A physics PhD trains you to find the underlying structure in complex systems and I apply the same thinking to frontend architecture. What I bring to a project goes beyond writing clean code: I think along on product decisions, ask the questions that prevent rework later, and bridge the gap between design and engineering, not just at handoff, but throughout the whole project.
Built a cross-team Angular component library — buttons, inputs, all the fundamentals — designed to serve multiple products with different brand identities from a single codebase. The real challenge: B2C and B2B sides share components but diverge on color and feel. Solved through design tokens and a theming architecture that keeps teams in sync without forcing visual uniformity.
Turned IPCC climate models into actionable risk scores for insurers — evaluating addresses and buildings for future threats like wildfire or flooding caused by climate change. The challenge wasn't the data, it was making dense scientific projections feel understandable and usable for people making real decisions.
Built a live market data tool for a securities firm in Hong Kong — turning raw pricing feeds and trading algorithms into a web interface analysts could actually use. The challenge: financial data moves fast, and the UI had to keep up without losing clarity.
